In Forms 3-4 (7th through 9th Grades) students have an extra 10-minute Geography lesson dedicated to “Map Exercises.” Each year they look at a different map: the Map of their own Country, the Map of their own Continent, and the Map of the World, respectively. These lessons are different from the regular Map Questions before each Geography reading. In fact, many teachers have been stumped trying to figure out a course of action. This ADE Teacher Help provides an entire year of Map Exercises for the given map under study, with suggestions to incorporate historical maps that coincide with the students’ history rotation. The only additional resource needed to implement these lessons is a map or atlas for your students to study.
Each Year of Exercises includes Three Terms’ worth of exercises. Each term contains 10-11 weeks (1 for each week of the term plus 1 week of “grace”) of Map Exercises, with additional historical Map Exercises to supplement or replace the standard term exercises. (Map of the USA is the only level available now, but the others will be coming in the future.)
