Bible: Forms V-VI Lesson Breakdown

Our Bible Breakdowns have cut planning time down for countless families since we introduced them in 2021, and after revising our Form 5 & 6 Bible Rotations, we are happy to be able to offer a similar resource for Forms 5 & 6 Bible lessons. As students finish their first in-depth read through of most of the Bible, they embark on wisdom literature, more of the prophetic books, and the New Testament Epistles. As in earlier forms, there are two different “streams” of New Testament readings, one from the New Testament rotation for Forms 5-6, the other from Charlotte Mason’s poems called Saviour of the World, based on a harmonization of the Gospel texts (as in Forms 3-4). The Old Testament portion completes the remaining books of the OT, apart from Song of Songs, which Charlotte Mason did not assign
We recommend you take a look at the Form 5-6 portion of the Bible Charts that show the entire Bible rotation. As lessons are generally independent at this stage, and a consecutive reading is preferred, we do recommend each Form 5-6 student begins at Year 1 and continues through Year 3, regardless of older students already in a subsequent year. All students in a single homeschool or any other type of school read the same Volume of Saviour of the World each year. A re-listen to Episode 17 might give you some context for all of this within the big picture of Bible Lessons.
Each Bible Breakdown includes Example Lesson Procedures and all the Exam Questions taken from the PUS Programmes and Examination Papers. This Teacher Help was created to save the teacher time in plotting out which passages to read for each lesson and to align the particular section of Paterson Smyth’s books illuminating that passage.
As we recommend each student in Forms 5-6 work through the cycle numerically, both the OT (2 lessons per week), and NT (1 lesson per week) are sold by the year.
