Starting in Form 2, students were required to complete several lessons each week of Dictation. Many of these lessons were for independent study, culminating every week or two in a Prepared Dictation exercise in which the teacher reads a selection from the practiced passage. The student was expected to write out the dictation perfectly.

Acclimating to Dictation can be a steep learning curve for the student.
