2024 ADE at HOME Virtual Conference

The fourth annual ADE at Home Conference will be held on February 2 and 3, 2024, but registration closes on February 1, so get your tickets before it’s too late!

  • Experience 11 demonstration lessons. Each presents an actual school lesson and will equip you to carry out Miss Mason’s method in your home or classroom.
  • Prepare to be encouraged by 26 experienced speakers. They bring experience from living out Charlotte Mason’s method’s in the country and the city, with many children or just a few. Some homeschool their children, and others teach in a classroom environment.
  • Choose from a broad range of topics explored through 32 sessions, from Foreign Language lessons to Physical Geography and Homeschooling through Major Transitions as well as Chronic Illness and Burnout. Our speakers will explain the principles and application of Miss Mason’s method related to home and school life. Whether you have little kids running underfoot or a house full of high school students, there is something for each of you.

All of the sessions will be available until May 03, 2024. However, we hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities to gather, socialize, interact, and find new and old friends during the conference. Use the Community Board or schedule Virtual Meetups to discuss the things that matter most to you. Last year we heard from groups who got together to watch. Others rented a hotel room to watch in silence. Still, more of our guests watched when they could grab a free hour here and there, so the live but also available for three months aspect of this conference is a great benefit. Remember, however, that each attendee still needs a ticket if you meet with a group. Besides, you can only watch so many sessions during the event, and you will want the opportunity to enjoy other sessions later.

The Details

DATE: February 2 and 3, 2024. Attendees will have access to all recorded sessions until May 03, 2024.

WHEN: Friday evening 5:00-9:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m (EST).

We hope you can make this opportunity a priority in 2024. February is the time of year we all need a boost and fresh ideas to inspire us. Perhaps a conference registration is a great gift idea for you or someone you love!

ADE at Home Conference: Registration Now OPEN!

June 25-27, 2020

Conference registration is now full.
But you can use the registration form to add yourself to the waiting list if you would like.

Come join us in Bristol, TN for a simple, quiet, peaceful–even laid back retreat in our hometown area to refresh your spirit, renew your knowledge of Charlotte Mason’s teaching method, and receive both encouragement to continue and inspiration to grow in teaching. This conference is being put on by A Delectable Education and our local friends at a small, intimate venue.

We will present four plenaries (main sessions for everyone), three workshop sessions with two options at each, and two Q&A open forums. All sessions will include basics for CM beginners as well as new material for seasoned educators to go deeper. Three all-day immersion sessions, (choose from an in-depth exploration of geography, a hands-on consideration of composition through the Forms, and a complete morning of lessons), will precede the conference for those wishing to arrive a day early and receive extra instruction.

This conference will have a simple schedule including lots of space in which to relax and have conversations with other parents and with Liz, Emily, and Nicole. We rarely have time to simply chat and counsel with attendees at conferences and we want this to be a fruitful time of face-to-face interaction. There will be free times for nature walks, drawing and handicraft guidance, and an optional visit to Liz and Emily’s Living Books Library.

You will be required to make your own arrangements for lodging and food. (We have listed some local options on the site.) However, once we get closer to the conference date, we will offer sign-up for one or two meals to be enjoyed on-site together.

Individual EARLY-BIRD PRICE – $160.00
Individual AFTER MARCH 1 – $190.00
Spouse – $130.00
All Day Immersions – $75.00

Early Bird Pricing Ends March 1st

Invitation to Join Us!

We are excited to announce the opening of our new
A Delectable Education Patreon Community!

As we discussed at the beginning of Episode 181, we have had many changes in each of our lives over the past few years. We have loved the privilege of sharing more about the Charlotte Mason Method regularly through the podcast, and occasionally at various conferences and events around the country. We especially love getting to meet (online or in person) many of our fellow Charlotte Mason geeks!

As we have contemplated how to move forward with our podcast given the increasing demands of our own circumstances, we have decided to open an opportunity for you to join us in our endeavor. Through Patreon, members of our community will pledge monthly support for Emily, Liz, and Nicole. In return, as a token of our gratitude and recognition of those of you who love to dig deeper into the details of this living method of education, we are releasing exclusive content just for our patrons!

This content will vary each month, but we think it will help encourage and equip you in your educational and parenting journeys. We appreciate all our listeners, regardless of their participation in the Patreon Community, and this content will in no way detract from the quality of material we present on the podcast. In fact, our patrons will enable us to continue studying and bringing the caliber of podcast content you’ve come to expect from the three of us. Our Patreon exclusive content are materials that don’t have a good outlet in the podcast medium.

We hope you will consider joining us! Just follow this link
(also found in the sidebar) to find out more.

Rejoicing in hope,
Emily, Liz, and Nicole

New Product from ADE!

We are thrilled to announce that our BRAND NEW Exam Planner Guide is now available!

A Delectable Education is pleased to offer a brand new resource to guide and direct you through the end of term examination process. A living education full of living ideas cannot be measured by standardized tests directed toward specific measurement of information acquired by a child. There is no ready-made test for each book studied. The goal in a Charlotte Mason education is not assessment for marks and rankings, but a regular means of noting ongoing progress in order to provide a robust program for the student’s continued growth and nourishment.

We have researched the examination process in the P.N.E.U. archives, studied Miss Mason’s purpose for examination, and have gathered the principles together in a planner that will assist you in designing your child’s examinations. This planner encompasses all Forms (I through VI), providing general principles to set your goals and direction, examples Form by Form of the types of questions posed to students at each level, and a blank document to format your own individual questions term after term.

Developing examination questions requires careful thought in order to ensure the success of each child’s work and to allow the teacher to make a realistic evaluation of the progress being made in their lessons. We encourage you to use this planner as you plan each coming term to help you focus on the kinds of books, activities, and lesson content that will make the most of the living ideas being presented. With the help of this planner, there need be no uncertainty about what your exam week should look like or how to express the questions in each subject.

Additionally, the Exam Planner includes practical advice for how to judge the work your child produces in his exams. This is critical to choosing books for the future and making corrective
adjustments in how you approach daily lessons.

The A Delectable Education Exam Planner:

  • Contains a full overview of each Form’s exams, subject by subject
  • Includes helpful notes about applying the principles and practices to today’s students as well as specific examples of questions Charlotte Mason and the P.N.E.U. used in their exams
  • Offers General Information to guide the teacher in creating and evaluating the child’s term examinations
  • Offers links to resources for further reading on the subject of examinations as Charlotte Mason outlined
